The best Dutch production of 2024. SPAfrica is a performance about empathy and extractivism. It examines how capitalism is intertwined with racism, exposing problematic mechanisms and the hidden racism within this system. What if empathy does not change or overcome power structures but instead reinforces existing privileges?

SPAfrica was part of the prestigious selection of the Dutch Theatre Festival. Julian Hetzel received the Jury Prize for Best Director of 2024, and actress Ntando Cele was nominated for Best Actress.
